Demosthenes C. Yiakas
Known professionally as "D.C.", Mr. Yiakas was admitted to the State Bar of California in January of 2011. He has a B.A. in Law and Society from the University of California
at Santa Barbara and a J.D. from the Univeristy of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
Mr. Yiakas came to the Workers'; Compensation field after more than 15 years in the workforce as a Contracts Officer, Program Manager, and Project Director for Wyle Laboratories in El Segundo, CA. Wyle Laboratories has been in operation for over 60 years as a leader in the aerospace and defense business, with preeminence in flight hardware testing, dynamic flight simulation systems, and aeromedical research. Mr. Yiakas managed several flight hardware test programs during his time at Wyle, primarily for Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing. He is most proud of leading as Program Manager/Project Director over the conception, design,
construction, and successful operation of the TV-25 Thermal Vacuum Test Facility; a "one of a kind" laboratory for the environmental testing and safe handling of large satellite components.
In 2011, Mr. Yiakas was employed as an attorney by a major defense law firm. In this capacity, he represented the interests of insurance companies and The County of Los Angeles in hundreds of workers' compensation cases. In 2012, Mr. Yiakas experienced an epiphany and realized that he was passionate for the rights and interests of injured workers, not insurance companies. He thus "switched sides" and joined the Fusi team, bringing his workforce and defense experience to the cause of California's injured workers.

Mr. Yiakas is fluent in the Greek language.
